Culture tip
Send Your Bags Ahead
Off to the airport or another city? Many hotel front desks can send your suitcase ahead with takkyubin (luggage delivery). It often arrives the next day, so you can ride the shinkansen with just a daypack.
“Luggage delivery (takkyubin) only works within the same city.”
It covers almost all of Japan. Send airport deliveries a day or two before your flight.
